Various Types Of Brass Pipe Fittings - Guide by Leading Manufacturers

Complex engineering and manufacturing process needs loads of machines and process. These machines are made of various accessories and parts which are welded and joint together to provide groves and stands.

For this, there are various kind of fittings and fixtures which are needed to make these machinery work and operate. Following is the list of manufacturing process

  • Centrifugal Casting (Industrial) - Centrifugal casting also known as roto-casting is kind of casting technique that is used for thin-walled cylinders Mostly used for glass and plastic
  • Continuous Casting - Continuous casting, also known as strand casting, and helps in solidifying molten metalsfor final finishing
  • Die Casting - Die casting is a kind of casting method for metals which deals in forcing molten metal and passes it through a mould to create items
  • Evaporative-Pattern Casting - Evaporative-pattern casting is a kind casting process that makes use of evaporating technology when molten metal is passed into a mould

These are just a few kinds of casting methods other than those there are various ways by which many things are manufactured. Once the metal is casted they need to be joined and welded together. In case of joining these parts and fixtures various fittings are required in big industries.

Following are various kind of brass pipe fittings which are used in manufacturing process, plumbing etc.

  • Elbow - An elbow is a fitting which joins two pipes and leads to a change in direction. Elbow can be of 90 degree and 45 degree etc
  • 5.2Coupling - When two pipes need to be connected then a coupling is used. They are available in different sizes depending upon the lengths of the pipes.
  • 5.3Union - A union is used for disconnection of pipes for maintenance or fixture replacement.
  • 5.4Reducer - When two pipes which are of different width needs to be connected then a reducer is used
  • 5.5Tee - A tee, is used in order to provide a regular flow of liquids and is one of the most used fittings pipe.
  • 5.6Cross - A cross is a kind of pipe fitting which has a four way, cross branch connection. The first cross is for the inlet and the rest 3 are for outlet
  • 5.7Cap and plug - Caps and plugs are used for easy transportation of liquids and gases. The male thread of the pipe is connected with a cap and the female thread of the pipe is connected to the plug. Special industrial caps are round in shape
  • 5.8Nipple - A nipple is generally made of chlorinated polyvinyl chloride (CPVC) or copper and is a short stub of pipe. It is used to connect two fittings to provide a joint. They are very commonly used for plumbing

All these pipes are available in a wide range of metals; however brass pipe fittings are very commonly used in manufacturing process as it is an alloy and is better performing than other metals. The biggest advantage of brass pipe fittings is that they do not corrode and is rust proof therefore they are most appropriate for liquids. They are red brass which consist of more copper is stronger than the yellow brass which consist of higher quality of zinc.
